Numeracy

At Hummersknott, we believe that for students to succeed in their chosen career they need to have a strong knowledge of numerical techniques which support them to access the mathematics required in the real world.  Numeracy and retention of numerical skills form part of our mathematics curriculum and our mathematics lessons.  However, we also believe that this needs to be complemented with independent practice at home using high quality resources.  We would recommend that your child practices numeracy on a regular basis using  some of the following websites so that they become fluent in the mathematical techniques that not only underpin the curriculum in a number of subjects but also allow them to understand the numeracy skills needed beyond their time at Hummersknott.
