Pupil Premium Funding

What is ‘the pupil premium’?

Introduced in 2011, the pupil premium is a sum of money given to schools each year by the Government to improve the attainment and progress of disadvantaged children.  The pupil premium is intended to directly benefit the children who are eligible, helping to narrow the attainment and progress gap between them and their classmates.  At Hummersknott we identify the specific barriers to progress that this cohort present and develop annual strategies to support all those in receipt of the funding to achieve their potential.  Below are the links to our current year strategy and the impact of the strategy from the previous academic year.

If you would like any further information around the use of the funding, please contact Miss V. Franks our Pupil Premium coordinator [email protected]

What is the year 7 catch up premium?

The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium gives schools additional funding to support year 7 pupils who did not achieve the expected standard in reading or maths at the end of key stage 2 (KS2). This is defined by the raw score each child achieved in their Key stage 2 SAT. At Hummersknott we develop annual strategies to support and accelerate the progress of those in receipt of this funding. The strategy for the current academic year is available to view via the link below. In addition to this year’s strategy, you can also view the impact statement from the previous academic years’ work. If you would like any further information around the use of this funding, please contact Miss J.Maddren [email protected]
